Purpose of the Role

To assist with warehouse operations including the accurate loading, stacking, and dispatch of stock, ensuring the facility runs smoothly and efficiently.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

General Warehouse Tasks

• Sweep and clean work areas regularly
• Assist drivers on delivery routes
• Maintain general warehouse housekeeping standards
• Support the picking team with ad-hoc tasks
• Load, stack, and secure pallets and products
• Operate pallet jacks and forklifts (license required)
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for truck loading

Wrapping & Packing

• Sort products based on packing instructions
• Wrap loads securely for transport
• Remove damaged or poor-quality items
• Assist checkers with unpacking when necessary

Cleanliness & Housekeeping

• Ensure workstations are always clean and organized
• Store cleaning equipment safely after use
• Keep walkways clear and free of debris
• Remove unused pallets and boards promptly

Stock Preparation & Counting

• Prepare the warehouse for regular stock counts
• Isolate damaged goods and label them accordingly
• Facilitate product access for inventory checks
• Participate in daily counts as directed
• Report inventory issues to the Shift Controller

Time & Attendance

• Clock in/out accurately
• Minimize overtime unless approved
• Report late arrivals or issues to the Shift Controller

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety procedures and ISO standards
• Ensure fire exits are accessible and equipment is handled safely
• Maintain a glass-free environment near product zones

Teamwork & Accountability

• Take full responsibility for assigned tasks
• Communicate delays or challenges promptly
• Live out the company’s values and support team goals
• Display a helpful attitude and assist colleagues as needed

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
• Physically strong and fit
• Reliable with sober habits

Added Advantage

• At least 1 year of warehousing experience
