About the Apprenticeship Programme
Our apprenticeship programme is structured over a period of three (3) years, offering a well-balanced combination of:
- Theoretical Training: Classroom-based instruction on the principles of mechanical, electrical, and automotive systems.
- Practical Training: Hands-on learning in a simulated and real-workshop environment.
- Workplace Experience: On-the-job training under the supervision of qualified and experienced mentors at one of our service dealerships.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, learners will obtain a nationally recognised Trade Certificate that qualifies them to work in their chosen trade, either locally or internationally. This certification is a gateway to a stable, rewarding, and progressive career in the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes
As an apprentice, your role will involve learning and developing skills by supporting experienced professionals while gradually taking on more responsibilities. Your daily tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting qualified technicians with vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance work.
- Participating in scheduled training sessions and formal assessments as part of the apprenticeship curriculum.
- Developing a thorough understanding of vehicle systems such as engines, brakes, electrical components, transmissions, and fuel injection systems.
- Carrying out routine inspections and documenting findings in line with standard procedures.
- Using diagnostic tools and specialised equipment under supervision.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Displaying a positive and proactive attitude toward training and self-improvement.
Minimum Qualifications and Entry Requirements
To be considered for this apprenticeship opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education:
Minimum educational requirement is Grade 10 or Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science (or Physics). Alternatively, applicants with a relevant technical or vocational qualification from a recognised institution will also be considered. - Driver’s License:
Although not mandatory, possessing a valid South African driver’s license will be a distinct advantage and may open more opportunities during the training phase. - Aptitude:
All shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a technical aptitude assessment to evaluate their mechanical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
