Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mixer Truck Driver to join our team in Olifantsfontein on a fixed-term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting and pouring concrete safely and efficiently to construction sites using a specialized mixer truck.

Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years’ proven experience operating concrete mixer trucks and the ability to handle different vehicle types, including Mercedes Benz, FAW, and Fusco, with straight, auto, semi-auto, and split gearboxes.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) plus a valid external driver certification
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar driving role
• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s license with a current PDP
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic calculations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• High sense of responsibility and reliability
• Solid knowledge of road transport legislation
• Must be physically fit, healthy, and able to work in various weather conditions
• Good eyesight, hearing, and speech abilities
• Medically fit for duty

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle and mixer to ensure safe and smooth operations
• Immediately report any mechanical or operational issues to the Supervisor
• Maintain the vehicle’s cleanliness and ensure it is properly greased and serviced
• Manage tyre care and condition on a regular basis
• Safely drive and deliver concrete loads to designated construction sites as per schedule
• Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to reach sites on time
• Continuously monitor the vehicle for faults or abnormalities
• Operate the mixer truck effectively to discharge concrete at job sites
• Comply with all road traffic regulations as well as company safety and operational policies
• Follow daily instructions relating to load delivery and removal tasks
