Key Responsibilities
As an Armed Response Officer, your role is critical to ensuring safety and peace of mind for Fidelity ADT’s clients. You will be part of a fast-paced, highly professional team that responds to security threats and emergencies. Duties include:
- Responding promptly to alarm activations and emergency calls.
- Patrolling residential estates, business premises, and community areas to deter crime.
- Engaging professionally with clients and providing reassurance during incidents.
- Reporting suspicious activities, security breaches, or hazards.
- Handling firearms responsibly and in line with legal and company regulations.
- Writing detailed incident reports and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Coordinating with control rooms, fellow officers, and law enforcement when required.
This role is not just about protecting property – it is about safeguarding communities and serving as a trusted presence in high-risk situations.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Matric certificate (Grade 12).
- PSIRA Accreditation: Grade B, accredited and registered with response capabilities.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the security industry.
- Integrity: No criminal record and willingness to undergo regular criminal checks.
- Health: Physically fit, in good health, and not afraid of heights.
- Computer Skills: Computer literacy will be an added advantage.
- Specialized Experience: Estate or residential security background is preferred.
- Location: Must live within traveling distance of the assigned site in Johannesburg.
- Firearm Competency: Valid Handgun Competency Certificate for Business Purposes.
- Driver’s License: Code B/EB driver’s license required.
