Key Responsibilities

As a valued member of our team, your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Preparing and cooking KFC menu items quickly, accurately, and safely using the correct kitchen equipment.
• Handling multiple customer orders at once while ensuring precision and attention to detail.
• Cutting, prepping, and portioning food ingredients according to order requirements and preparation guidelines.
• Assembling, wrapping, and packaging food correctly to meet company standards.
• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with inventory management to keep the kitchen fully operational.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment by following strict food safety and health regulations.
• Receiving and carefully storing food supplies to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
• Alerting the manager when supplies are low or when kitchen equipment requires repair or servicing.
• Ensuring all food leaving the kitchen meets company standards for taste, quality, and portion size.
• Assisting with kitchen closing procedures, equipment checks, and routine cleaning schedules.
• Supporting your colleagues in all kitchen roles to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
• Taking on additional responsibilities as directed by management to contribute to overall team success.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English.
• Must live within 10km of Pretoria Central.
• A clear criminal record.

Preferred Attributes

While not mandatory, the following will be advantageous:

• Previous experience as a Cook, Kitchen Assistant, Team Member, or in a similar back-of-house role.
• Male candidates aged 20 to 35.
• Familiarity with operating fryers, grills, ovens, and other food preparation equipment.
