About the Role

As a Sales Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in connecting customers with Old Mutual’s world-class financial solutions. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment and who enjoy building meaningful client relationships.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide quality sales service that drives new business and nurtures existing client relationships. By engaging customers professionally and efficiently, you will contribute to the profitability and growth of Old Mutual while delivering service that reflects our culture of trust, excellence, and customer care.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, your daily duties will include:

  • Sales Engagement: Handle both incoming and outgoing calls as per set schedules, campaigns, and performance targets.
  • Customer Guidance: Telephonically guide customers through product offerings, pricing, terms, and conditions, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Quotations: Provide accurate and timely quotations to customers while maintaining strong lead-to-sale and lead-to-quote ratios.
  • Target Achievement: Sell according to daily and monthly targets, contributing to team and company growth.
  • Lead Management: Manage all allocated leads effectively, ensuring maximum conversion.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain a minimum 90% QA average on all calls by demonstrating professionalism, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Data Management: Accurately capture and update customer data in line with company systems and policies.
  • Customer Documentation: Forward policy documents to clients within the mandated timeframes.
  • First-Call Resolution: Finalise sales and resolve queries at the point of contact whenever possible.
  • Workload Management: Organise time efficiently to meet deadlines, targets, and reporting requirements.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay up to date with Old Mutual’s products, campaigns, rules, and conditions in order to recommend the right financial solutions.

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal and sales skills, coupled with a professional approach to client service. The key competencies we are looking for include:

Education and Experience

  • A minimum educational requirement of Matric/Grade 12.
  • Prior experience in sales, customer service, or call centre environments will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the financial services sector or insurance industry will be considered a strong asset.
