Overview
We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cleaner. The purpose of this role is to maintain a consistently high standard of hygiene, cleanliness, and order throughout all areas of our facilities, including offices, warehouses, showrooms, collection spaces, and restrooms. Cleanliness plays a vital role in creating a safe, pleasant, and professional environment for both employees and visitors, and as a Cleaner, you will be responsible for ensuring that every corner of the premises meets these expectations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

While tasks may vary depending on the department or work area assigned, the Cleaner will perform the following responsibilities:

1. General Cleaning Tasks
   • Carry out daily cleaning routines in assigned areas to ensure all surfaces and spaces remain hygienic and free of dirt.
   • Empty, wash, and sanitize waste bins or similar receptacles, ensuring waste materials are properly transported to designated collection points.
   • Sweep and mop hard floors to maintain a dust-free and polished appearance.
   • Perform suction cleaning of carpeted areas, including spot cleaning of stains, to maintain carpets in presentable condition.
2. Specialised Cleaning Using Equipment
   • Operate electrically powered cleaning equipment such as scrubbing, burnishing, and polishing machines after receiving appropriate training.
   • Spray clean, scrub, and polish floors using industrial equipment to ensure durability and shine.
   • Maintain all cleaning machines in proper working order and report any technical issues promptly.
3. Furniture, Fixtures, and Surfaces
   • Dust, damp wipe, wash, and polish furniture, shelves, window sills, and external surfaces of cupboards and fittings.
   • Pay special attention to high-touch surfaces, ensuring they remain sanitized throughout the day.
4. Consumables and Restroom Care
   • Replenish consumables such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and sanitizers as required.
   • Thoroughly clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, and drinking fountains to maintain hygiene standards.
   • Monitor restrooms frequently to ensure they are tidy, stocked, and welcoming for staff and visitors.
5. Specialised Area Cleaning
   • Perform deep cleaning in designated areas such as showrooms, office buildings, and collection areas.
   • Ensure warehouse racking and stacking areas remain free from dust and debris, creating a safe working environment.
   • Tackle occasional heavy-duty cleaning assignments when required.
6. Additional Responsibilities
   • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety guidelines during all cleaning duties.
   • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to meet daily cleaning schedules.
   • Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in other cleaning tasks as requested by management.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:

• Education: A Grade 12 certificate (or equivalent) is highly preferred.
• Experience: Direct work experience in a similar cleaning role within industries such as retail, manufacturing, corporate offices, or warehouses.
• Equipment Knowledge: Ability to safely and competently use industrial cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Health & Safety: Basic health and safety knowledge and/or first aid training is an advantage.
