We are currently searching for a Project Purchasing Coordinator to join our dynamic Cable Division in Johannesburg. This position is best suited to an organized, detail-driven professional with strong procurement and project coordination skills. Key Duties & Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the procurement process for cable projects, including related materials such as joints, terminations, racking systems, low-voltage accessories, and overhead line equipment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Manage orders and supply chains for multiple cable-related projects simultaneously.
  • Planning: Develop detailed delivery schedules, complete required documentation, coordinate with logistics teams, and ensure all resources are aligned for on-time execution.
  • Management: Lead large-scale procurement projects while ensuring compliance with budget limits, technical specifications, and EHS/quality standards.
  • Monitoring & Control: Track project progress, resolve bottlenecks, and adapt to changes in scope, cost, or timeline. Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders.
  • Communication: Act as the central point of contact, maintaining transparent communication between ARB, suppliers, and project teams.
  • Risk Management: Anticipate potential challenges and design contingency strategies to minimize risks.
  • Quality Assurance: Guarantee that all deliverables meet company and industry standards before release.
  • Evaluation: Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and implement best practices in future projects.

Operational Accountabilities

  • Schedule, document, and follow up on project meetings.
  • Track actions, milestones, and deadlines, ensuring goals are met.
  • Maintain updated workflows and process documentation.
  • Log project data into division tracking systems.
  • Monitor expenses and keep accurate cost records.
  • Ensure resource availability and verify information accuracy.
  • Coordinate quality checks to confirm all requirements are met.
  • Measure and report on overall project performance.

Supplier & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, branches, and project managers.
  • Ensure delivery deadlines are consistently achieved.
  • Support distribution centres with documentation, packaging, and supply chain issues.
  • Assist with stock management, inspections, and compliance processes (including BV inspections).
  • Provide hands-on support during project-related stock takes.

Desired Qualifications & Skills

To succeed in this role, you should bring the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Procurement, or Legal Studies.
  • Proven experience in project procurement, demonstrating the ability to deliver results within budget and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and familiarity with legal and contractual frameworks.
  • A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
