About the Role

As a Restaurant Assistant at Nando’s, you’ll be the heartbeat of our operation. You’ll work closely with your team to deliver outstanding service, maintain high-quality food standards, and keep the restaurant looking clean and welcoming at all times.

Key Responsibilities

As a Nando’s Restaurant Assistant, your duties may include:

• Customer Service Excellence: Greeting customers warmly, taking orders with a smile, and ensuring that every guest feels valued and appreciated.
• Food Preparation: Assisting with grilling, plating, and assembling Nando’s signature meals while following hygiene and safety standards.
• Front-of-House Duties: Managing till operations, handling payments, and keeping the dining area clean and organised.
• Kitchen Support: Helping chefs with basic prep work, restocking supplies, and ensuring all food areas meet Nando’s hygiene expectations.
• Cleaning and Housekeeping: Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, dining, and restroom areas to create a safe and pleasant environment for customers.
• Team Collaboration: Supporting your fellow Nandocas to ensure smooth restaurant operations — because at Nando’s, teamwork makes the flame work!

Requirements and Skills

We’re looking for people who bring energy and enthusiasm to every shift — experience is great, but it’s your attitude that matters most!

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 10 or higher (Matric preferred)
• Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Positive, proactive, and customer-focused attitude
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable and punctual
• Friendly, respectful, and committed to delivering great service

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience in retail, fast food, or restaurant environments
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices
• Cash handling experience

Working Hours
