Position Overview
As a Security Guard at Fidelity Services Group, you will play a critical role in protecting clients’ premises, assets, employees, and the general public. You will be responsible for maintaining a visible presence, monitoring activities, and responding swiftly to incidents or emergencies.
Security Guards serve as the first line of defense and are expected to demonstrate professionalism, alertness, and strong communication skills at all times. Successful candidates will receive ongoing support and training to perform their duties in accordance with Fidelity’s high standards and national legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Protecting property, assets, and personnel at designated sites.
- Monitoring and controlling access to premises, ensuring only authorized persons enter restricted areas.
- Performing regular patrols to identify safety or security risks.
- Reporting suspicious behavior, security breaches, or safety hazards.
- Responding promptly to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations.
- Writing detailed incident reports and maintaining accurate daily occurrence books.
- Assisting visitors and providing directions or information when required.
- Ensuring compliance with company security policies and client site procedures.
- Operating security equipment such as radios, metal detectors, and CCTV systems.
- Maintaining a professional image and adhering to Fidelity’s code of conduct at all times.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria to be considered:
- Grade 10 or higher qualification (Grade 12 preferred).
- PSIRA registration (Grade C or higher) – must be valid and up to date.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in security (advantageous but not mandatory).
- Clear criminal record (checks will be conducted).
- Physically fit and able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Strong communication and observation skills.
- Must be reliable, disciplined, and able to follow instructions accurately.
- South African citizenship or valid work permit for non-citizens.
