About the Role: Sales Associate (120hr) – 3-Month Contract

The Sales Associate position is a vital frontline role in our stores. You will be the face of Jet, interacting with customers daily, assisting with product selections, and ensuring our store remains a welcoming shopping environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sales Associate at Jet, your duties will include but not be limited to:

• Delivering Exceptional Customer Service:
  Greet every customer warmly and professionally. Assist shoppers with finding products, offer advice on styles and sizes, and ensure each person leaves the store satisfied with their experience.
• Sales and Product Knowledge:
  Actively promote Jet’s products and current promotions. Develop a sound understanding of our clothing ranges, seasonal collections, and discount policies to help customers make informed buying decisions.
• Merchandising and Store Presentation:
  Maintain an attractive store layout by restocking shelves, organizing clothing displays, and ensuring that promotional signage is current and correct. You will also assist in creating visually appealing displays that attract customers’ attention.
• Stock Management:
  Support stock receiving, unpacking, and labeling of merchandise. Conduct regular stock counts to ensure accuracy and report any discrepancies to management promptly.
• Till Operation and Cash Handling:
  Process sales accurately, handle returns or exchanges in line with company policy, and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly. You’ll also be responsible for balancing your till at the end of your shift.
• Team Collaboration:
  Work closely with fellow Sales Associates, Supervisors, and Store Managers to achieve daily sales targets, meet store goals, and maintain smooth store operations.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this position, applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
• Experience: Previous retail or customer service experience will be an advantage, but not required — training will be provided.
• Availability: Must be available to work flexible retail hours, including weekends and public holidays, for a total of 120 hours per month.
• Skills and Attributes:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy store
  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player
