👨🍳 Available Positions
We’re hiring for the following roles in multiple Wimpy’s Diner branches:
1. Washers / Kitchen Assistants
Our washers play a vital role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for cleaning dishes, maintaining hygiene standards, and assisting the kitchen staff with basic preparation tasks.
Key Duties:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
- Keep kitchen and back areas clean and tidy
- Assist chefs and grillers with simple food prep when needed
- Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations
Ideal Candidate:
- Hardworking and reliable
- Able to work under pressure
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- No prior experience required — training provided
2. Grillers
Our grillers are the heart of the kitchen — preparing the signature Wimpy burgers, breakfasts, and steaks our customers love.
Key Duties:
- Prepare and grill menu items according to Wimpy’s standards
- Ensure food is cooked safely and consistently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of cooking stations
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in food preparation or grilling is an advantage
- Ability to work in a busy kitchen environment
- Attention to detail and passion for good food
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
3. Delivery Drivers
Wimpy’s Diner now offers delivery services in many areas, and we’re looking for reliable delivery drivers to join our growing network.
Key Duties:
- Deliver food orders promptly and accurately
- Provide friendly, professional customer service at all times
- Handle cash or card transactions securely
- Ensure the vehicle or motorbike is well maintained and clean
Requirements:
- Valid South African driver’s license or motorbike license
- Good knowledge of local routes
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Reliability and punctuality are a must
4. Cashiers
Our cashiers are the first smiling faces customers see when they walk in. You’ll be handling transactions, assisting guests with menu information, and ensuring every customer leaves satisfied.
Key Duties:
- Operate the till and process payments accurately
- Greet and assist customers with orders
- Keep the front counter and dining area clean and welcoming
- Balance the till at the end of shifts
Ideal Candidate:
- Friendly and approachable personality
- Strong communication skills
- Basic math and computer literacy
- Experience in retail or food service is a plus

📝 Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 or higher
- Must be 18 years or older
- South African ID or valid work permit
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
