This role plays a crucial part in maintaining safety, security, and operational integrity across our warehouse and distribution environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring CCTV systems, reporting incidents, and assisting in loss control investigations to help reduce shrinkage, pilferage, and safety risks within the Polokwane facility.

Key Purpose of the Role

The primary responsibility of the CCTV Clerk is to assist the Loss Control and Distribution management teams by closely monitoring surveillance systems and ensuring that all security measures are in place and functioning effectively. You will help protect company assets by identifying and reporting suspicious activities, safety hazards, and operational irregularities.

This role demands a high level of concentration, honesty, and professionalism, as the Clerk: CCTV serves as the eyes and ears of the warehouse operation. Your work will contribute directly to the prevention of theft, accidents, and misconduct, ensuring that the Clover Polokwane branch maintains its high standards of safety and productivity.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following essential requirements:

• Education: Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 4).
• Language Skills: Fluent in written and spoken Business English.
• Experience: Previous experience working within a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment will be advantageous.
• Exposure: Experience interacting with senior management and understanding company security protocols.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a CCTV Clerk, your role will involve a variety of important security and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of Clover’s Polokwane Distribution Centre. Below are the main areas of responsibility:

1. Monitoring and Surveillance
   • Conduct real-time monitoring of CCTV footage across all warehouse zones, entry and exit points, and storage areas.
   • Detect and record any unusual activities, safety violations, or unauthorized movements.
   • Play back footage when incidents occur and prepare detailed incident reports.
2. Reporting and Documentation
   • Submit accurate reports of all recorded incidents, accidents, and near-misses to the Loss Control Manager.
   • Maintain proper records of footage, incident logs, and security documentation.
   • Provide summarized daily, weekly, or monthly reports highlighting security trends and potential risk areas.
3. Night Patrol Analysis
   • Download data from patrol batons used by night security staff.
   • Analyze patrol routes and provide feedback to the Loss Control Manager.
   • Highlight missed patrols, delays, or security breaches detected during nighttime operations.
4. Security Equipment Checks
   • Conduct routine tests of all ADT panic buttons every week and report any faulty devices for repair.
   • Inspect the electric fence zones to identify faults or breaches and immediately report any issues to the technical team.
   • Ensure that all surveillance systems and equipment are fully functional at all times.
5. Incident Investigation Assistance
   • Work closely with the Loss Control Manager to provide CCTV footage and time-stamped evidence for internal investigations.
   • Support disciplinary procedures by retrieving relevant visual material when required.
   • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive security footage.
6. Training and Onboarding of Security Staff
   • Assist in the induction and training of new security personnel regarding gate procedures, alcohol policies, and documentation requirements.
   • Ensure all staff understand the correct procedures for signing in visitors, vehicles, and deliveries.
   • Promote adherence to Clover’s code of conduct and safety regulations.
7. Administrative and Stock Control Duties
   • Order and maintain stock of essential security-related items such as seal books, ring seals, and strap seals.
   • Ensure these items are properly logged, issued, and stored according to company policy.
   • Support management with administrative tasks related to security, logistics, and compliance.
