Job Overview

Warehouse workers at Econo Foods play a crucial role in ensuring that all products are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently and accurately. You’ll be responsible for handling inventory, assisting with deliveries, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting warehouse supervisors in daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

As a warehouse worker at Econo Foods, your daily duties will include:

• Receiving and Checking Stock: Offloading goods from delivery vehicles, verifying quantities, and inspecting for damage or discrepancies.
• Packing and Picking Orders: Preparing customer and branch orders accurately and on time, ensuring that all items are packed according to company standards.
• Stock Management: Assisting with stock rotation, labeling, and ensuring all goods are stored in their correct locations.
• Housekeeping: Maintaining cleanliness and order in the warehouse to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Loading and Dispatching: Helping load delivery trucks and making sure products are properly secured for transportation.
• Following Safety Standards: Adhering to all health, safety, and hygiene procedures, including cold storage safety protocols.
• Team Support: Collaborating with fellow team members, supervisors, and drivers to meet daily targets and deadlines.
• Reporting Issues: Informing supervisors about damaged stock, equipment malfunctions, or shortages.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Education: Grade 10 or higher (Grade 12/Matric advantageous).
• Experience: Previous warehouse, retail, or logistics experience is preferred but not required—training will be provided.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to lift, move, and carry goods regularly.
• Skills: Basic understanding of warehouse operations, time management, and teamwork.
• Language: Good communication skills in English or any South African language.
• Other Requirements:
  • Must be punctual and reliable.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime when required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
