Role Purpose

The main purpose of the Part-Time Shop Assistant role is to ensure that every customer who walks into the store receives friendly, helpful, and professional service. You will support the store team by assisting with sales, maintaining store standards, performing general housekeeping, and ensuring that all customers have an enjoyable shopping experience. This role is essential to the daily operations of the store, especially during busy periods.


Key Responsibilities

As a Footgear Part-Time Assistant, you will be expected to perform the following duties:

1. Customer Service

  • Greet customers warmly and offer assistance when needed.
  • Help customers find the right footwear size, style, or brand.
  • Answer questions about promotions, product features, and prices.
  • Provide excellent service that encourages repeat business.

2. Sales Assistance

  • Assist customers at fitting areas and ensure they have the correct shoe sizes.
  • Promote ongoing deals or specials happening in the store.

3. Store Presentation

  • Keep the shop floor clean, organised, and fully stocked.

4. Stock Management

  • Help receive, unpack, and pack away stock.

5. Compliance & Safety

  • Follow all store safety rules and company policies.
  • Uphold hygiene standards, especially in common and customer areas.
  • Maintain awareness of customers and surroundings to prevent stock loss.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Footgear Part-Time Assistant opportunity, applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric (advantageous, but some stores may accept candidates currently completing Grade 11 or 12).
  • Must be available on weekends and public holidays.
