Role Purpose
The purpose of this position is to ensure that all C-BRTA facilities—offices, reception areas, restrooms, meeting rooms, kitchens, corridors, and common spaces—are maintained at the highest possible level of cleanliness and hygiene. As a Cleaner, you will be part of the frontline support that enables staff, visitors, and stakeholders to operate in a healthy and organised environment.
This role requires someone attentive, disciplined, motivated, and able to manage cleaning tasks with minimal supervision.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Cleaner at the C-BRTA, you will perform a wide variety of duties to uphold the organisation’s hygiene and general housekeeping standards. Your responsibilities will include:
Daily Cleaning Tasks
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors.
- Dusting and wiping down desks, surfaces, furniture, and equipment.

- Maintaining the cleanliness of corridors, staircases, and walkways.
Bathroom and Kitchen Maintenance

- Cleaning kitchen counters, cupboards, sinks, taps, and appliances.
- Ensuring tea/coffee stations remain neat, organised, and hygienic at all times.
Office and Meeting Area Support
- Preparing and tidying meeting rooms before and after use.
- Ensuring visitors’ areas and reception spaces are spotless at all times.
- Supporting staff with basic housekeeping needs when required.
Health, Safety & Hygiene Compliance
- Using cleaning products safely and according to instructions.
- Reporting maintenance or repair issues to supervisors.

- Following all safety guidelines, PPE requirements, and Agency protocols.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the Cleaner position, applicants must meet the following basic requirements:
- Grade 10–12 (or equivalent qualification).
- At least six months to one year of cleaning experience in an office, school, hospital, or facility environment.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Good communication skills (English or any South African language).
