Job Overview
As a Shop Assistant at Milady’s, you will be an essential part of our retail team, providing top-notch customer service and maintaining the high standards of our store. You will be responsible for assisting customers, maintaining the store’s appearance, managing stock, and ensuring that every shopper has an exceptional in-store experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service Excellence: Greet customers, assist with product selections, provide fashion advice, and answer any questions they have about merchandise. Ensure that each customer feels welcomed and valued.
- Product Knowledge: Stay up to date with the latest collections, trends, and promotions. Share product knowledge with customers to help them make informed decisions.
- Store Presentation: Ensure that the store is clean, organised, and visually appealing. Help with product displays, mannequins, and merchandising to create a welcoming environment for customers.
- Sales Targets: Assist in meeting daily and monthly sales goals. Engage with customers in a positive, non-pushy manner to drive sales.
- Stock Management: Assist with stock replenishment, inventory checks, and organisation of the stockroom. Ensure products are correctly priced and tagged.
- Point-of-Sale (POS) Transactions: Operate the till, process payments, and handle returns or exchanges in a friendly, efficient manner.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the store manager and other team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Help maintain team morale and contribute to a positive work environment.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, we’re looking for candidates who:
- Have Retail Experience: Previous experience in a retail environment is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude.
- Are Passionate About Fashion: An interest in the fashion industry, staying on top of trends, and a keen sense of style are essential to excel in this role.
- Exhibit Excellent Communication Skills: You must have the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with customers and team members alike.
- Are Customer-Focused: A natural ability to engage with people, understand their needs, and provide solutions to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Have a Strong Work Ethic: You should be proactive, reliable, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Are Flexible and Adaptable: Willingness to work on weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings as per the store’s operational needs.
Additional Skills & Attributes (Preferred)
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing retail role.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to take initiative.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive and professional demeanour.
- Knowledge of inventory management or stockroom organisation is a bonus.
