Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the secure, timely collection and delivery of laboratory specimens, documents, and other goods. This includes providing efficient shuttle services and ensuring excellent customer service throughout each interaction.
Minimum Requirements:
- Educational Background: Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 (preferred); Grade 10 will be considered with sufficient experience.
- Driving Licence: Valid and appropriate driver’s license required.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years’ relevant courier or delivery experience or
- At least 10 years of hands-on courier experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organise daily delivery and collection schedules by reviewing moxes and route tasks.
- Safely transport specimens, documents, and other materials between labs, medical professionals, and clients.
- Ensure timely and secure delivery of all items to the correct destinations, maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction.
- Use the Courier Management System to scan and log all pickups and deliveries for tracking and accountability.
- Maintain and care for all company assets (vehicles, fuel cards, uniforms, etc.) and promptly report any defects or issues.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols by using required protective gear (gloves, safety glasses, specimen bags, etc.).
- Report and document any incidents or accidents immediately to management to facilitate timely insurance processing and equipment repairs.
