Key Responsibilities
As a Pick n Pay Store Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers enjoy an outstanding shopping experience. Your duties will include:
Customer Service
- Implement a standard greeting protocol to welcome every customer warmly and professionally.
- Assist customers by knowing the location of products, features, and benefits to make their shopping easier.
- Respond to customer queries in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner.
- Establish and follow a clear process for addressing and escalating complaints when necessary to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Provide outstanding customer care by always being approachable, friendly, and solution-driven.
Store Operations & Merchandising
- Follow standard procedures for stocking shelves, ensuring products are displayed neatly, rotated correctly, and priced accurately.
- Maintain high visual merchandising standards to keep the store appealing and organized.
- Check product quality regularly, remove expired stock, and prevent wastage or shrinkage.
- Monitor cold-chain storage areas (if applicable) and check temperatures to maintain food safety.
- Promote and recommend products to customers in line with promotions or store campaigns.
Hygiene, Housekeeping, and Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment both on the floor and in storage areas.
- Adhere to hygiene and housekeeping standards, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for customers.
- Operate and clean store equipment according to set guidelines.
- Follow all security procedures to protect customers, staff, and merchandise.
