The Role: Sales Representative

Smollan is excited to announce an opportunity for a Sales Representative to work with one of our leading banking clients in Umlazi. This is a field-based position, designed for ambitious, goal-oriented individuals who thrive on personal interaction and enjoy connecting with businesses face-to-face.

The primary focus of this role is to engage with small business owners, identify their needs, and introduce them to innovative financial solutions that can help them succeed. You will play a vital role in generating leads, building strong relationships, and acting as the professional link between small businesses and the bank’s tailored products and services.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sales Representative, your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Client Engagement: Conduct in-person visits to small and medium-sized businesses in Umlazi, introducing them to banking solutions designed to improve and support their operations.
  • Lead Generation: Identify, qualify, and capture high-quality leads through face-to-face interactions with decision-makers.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Matric (Grade 12) is required. A tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, or Finance will be advantageous.
  • Location: Must reside in Umlazi or nearby areas to ensure availability and familiarity with the local market.
  • Experience: 1–2 years of direct field sales, lead generation, or face-to-face marketing experience. Candidates with prior exposure to the banking or financial services sector will have an added advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a confident, professional demeanor.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
    • Ability to work independently, manage a field schedule effectively, and meet sales targets.
  • Other Requirements:
    • A valid driver’s license.
    • Own reliable transport to travel between clients and designated locations.
